The Splash Damage Friday Splashdown

August 7, 2015

This week has been a busy one for us at Splash Towers. With a new update hitting Dirty Bomb and some epic Gears of War: Ultimate Edition announcements just before the doors of Gamescom were opened, the Internet has been buzzing with excitement.

Dirty Bomb

This week saw the introduction of the new Merc Redeye, an Australian ex-SAS sharpshooter who brought both his IR Goggles and Smoke Grenades with him. For the complete lowdown on Redeye check out his Merc Role-Call below.

PC Gamer also published an awesome article on why its readers should be playing Dirty Bomb right now. We must admit, we agree wholeheartedly (though of course we would).

Evan Lahti explains “I didn’t get swept up by that initial wave of attention, but I wish I had: Dirty Bomb, still in beta, is one of the best multiplayer FPSes you can play today.” For the full article, just click here and enjoy a furry of animated GIFs.

When Andrew Goudreau’s Dirty Bomb image found its way to us this week we had to share – It’s safe to say we can all relate to it.

SPLASH DAMAGE STREAM

shoe. and Pinflux

Our own ‘Brand Manager’ Pinflux joined shoe. in the stream for the first time this week. We’re not sure he helped you to understand what he actually does as a job, but he made his (lack of) skill obvious in the Dirty Bomb Dev Challenges! Re-live it here, and don’t forget to Follow and tune in every Monday and Wednesday at 18:00 UTC.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition

Gamescom – Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Package

GoW: UE

This week on the eve of Gamescom it was announced that Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will be packaged for a limited time with the entire Xbox 360 Gears of War collection for Xbox One. That’s a whole lot of Gears and we just can’t wait! To read up on the full article, you can check it out here!

Gamespot – Comparison Video

There has been a lot of questions online and at events about how much of an improvement Gears of War: Ultimate edition will be over the original. Gamespot jumped in this week with a comparison video which truly shows how far the development team has pushed the Ultimate Edition beyond the original to fulfil the expectations of fans. At time of posting, the video (below) has received over 50,000 views in 4 days and a flurry of hugely positive comments.

That was it in big news for the week! Or did we miss something? Let us know in the comments below.

And as always, stay fresh!
