SCUM: Into the Wild | October Update

October 5, 2026

The final Into the Wild update is now live, expanding fishing with new quests and a leaderboard, bringing birds back to the Island, and adding Mutant Animal clothing and Apex arena Deathmatch events.

FISH, HUNT & FIGHT

The fight on the line has got more challenging. Bigger fish pull harder, and managing your reel affects how quickly they tire and recover. Your bait and equipment matter too, with an updated HUD to help you keep an eye on line tension and bait.

There are new fishing quests to work through, rewards to earn and a server leaderboard to see how your catches measure up.

Crows and seagulls are back. You’ll find crows inland and seagulls along the coast, flying, perching and reacting to what they see and hear. Keep an eye on their activity. They could lead you to food, or give away another prisoner nearby.

You can also craft clothing from Mutant Animal parts, and head back into the Apex arena for Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch through the Events system.

FIXES & IMPROVEMENTS

Alongside the fishing updates and fixes, this release brings balance changes and quality-of-life improvements across the game, with work on server stability, connections, items and loot. Clothing dirt and visible damage have also been rebalanced, so clothes stay cleaner for longer and show wear that better reflects their condition.

The optional Specialist Angler Pack is also available separately. You’ll find its contents and details on consumables in the full update post.

BEYOND INTO THE WILD

It’s been a busy season. Our team’s worked with Gamepires to bring free-roaming wildlife back to the Island, expand the quest system with hunting challenges and exclusive rewards, and introduce Mutant Animals and TEC1 Research Facilities.

We’ve added a whole new tutorial to help new players survive, taken official servers up to 80 players, and updated and expanded farming, cooking and metabolism.

Thanks to everyone who’s worked on these updates, and to everyone who’s shared their hunts and feedback with us.

Next up is a standalone update, with work on the next season already underway. We’ll share more once the release date is confirmed.
