Gears of War 4: The Multiplayer Roundup
September 6, 2016
Earlier this year we announced we’re working on the multiplayer portion of Gears of War 4, and the launch date is just around the corner – 11th October! With the Swarm about to spew its rage onto the Fenix family this autumn, here’s what to expect.
The multiplayer is being given more attention than ever before, running at a crisp 60 FPS on dedicated servers. Brand new characters, weapons, gameplay abilities and maps all feature, alongside a new visible ranking system that makes for fairer matchmaking across the board. Take a look at a fly through of ‘Lift’ and some gameplay on ‘Reclaimed’ here:
Team up with four others and battle wave after wave of increasingly difficult enemies by choosing your combat class, leveling up your skills and deploying fortifications anywhere on the map.
Never Fight Alone
Enjoy two-player co-op campaign with friends locally via split-screen, over Xbox Live or LAN. Player 2 can select either Kait or Del. Check out some of the key changes you can expect here:
Gears of War 4 is part of the first batch of Play Anywhere titles, so purchasing a digital version on either Xbox or PC will net you a copy on both platforms. Pre-order the standard edition here, or get access to the game four days before the official launch date by pre-ordering the Ultimate Edition here!
Time to start counting down the days!
