Dirty Bomb’s Game Modes
October 1, 2014
With Dirty Bomb, we’re looking to create a fun-filled, skill-based, FPS. We want to encourage teams of Mercs to work together for the greater good…which often means blowing something up as far as they’re concerned! To ensure that they don’t ever run out of explosive fodder, we’ve built plenty of objectives into Dirty Bomb’s game modes.
Valuable IT infrastructure that needs to go boom, Evacuation Vehicles that need to be escorted to safety, key structures that need to be captured, cargo that needs to never see the light of day; all of these and more are the focal points around which teams of Mercs look to outdo each other and dominate!
Modes
Objective:
Want to jump in-game for a quick round or two? Objective mode is for you. With short overall match times, Objective offers quick bursts of action before changing map. Objective sees a team of attackers do their very best to complete all primary objectives on the map before the time runs out. The defending team must do everything in their power to stop them.
Each map also has secondary objectives. They usually provide alternate routes, or points of fire from which good Mercs can lay down lead to control key zones around the map.
Stopwatch:
Stopwatch is the game mode for the more considered player, someone who’s looking to spend their time playing a longer, slightly more competitive, match. Stopwatch shares a lot of similarities with Objective mode. Where it differs is that each team is given the opportunity to both attack and defend. If the attackers win round one, they will then become the defenders, and will have to prevent their opponents from completing the mission faster than they did.
Execution:
Shrouded in mystery, Execution is the most recent mode to surface around Dirty Bomb. While it’s a little bit too early to go into too much detail about this mode just yet, we will say that Execution will show a little more love to those who prefer to focus on kills over objectives.
Having had a brief rundown of Dirty Bomb’s current game modes, we would love to hear what you guys think. Let us know below, and feel free to ask any questions that you may have too!
