Small Brink PC Hotfix Released
Submitted by badman on Tue, 07/05/2011 - 18:56
We've just released a small hotfix for the PC version of Brink, addressing an issue with physics commands not being synced to all clients. Among other things, this would sometimes result in inconsistent player movement (such as crouching). You'll get the fix automatically if you're signed into Steam.
Going hand in hand with the hotfix, there's an updated version of the standalone dedicated server available as well, which you can grab via Steam's Tools tab. If you run a Brink server, we recommend that you update it as soon as possible as players with the hotfix will not be able to join it otherwise.

Good news, but how fast are the servers going to update? I'd like to get a quick game in this morning before going to lunch. Is there a way to delay the update for my Brink client until the servers get updated?

Sound is screwed on both servers I've tried so far on some maps, since the update.
There's echo / duplication / degradation of sound. It's global as all players hear it.
Also, I think the prior patch broke Alt-Tab again on AMD cards ...
P.S. Seems like every single server I play on now has fat body type players as the top few scorers on most maps. The machine gun and chain gun are really over-buffed, imo.

in 3 weeks nobody gonna play this game with so many maps !
at least ETQW have 12 maps !
I play more than 1500h and here 8 little poor maps and fix coming sometimes
maybe in 1 year we got the full game
No SDK to try to save what they can save ! and still no linux server ...
I think DECEPTION is the word !

I think most people have gotten over themselves after venting their frustration weeks ago. Not patching the game at this point would probably get an equally vocal reaction from you (you know, just a hunch)... unless of course you don't want them to patch it?
If the outcome either way is as you say, "a dead game" then how does pointing it out for the thousandth time benefit any of us or yourself?

not patching won't get any reaction out of anyone cause there is no one left to complain. I'm merely telling them once again that they're failures and should be ashamed of this game the support which they gave it. My comments were by no means meant to be constructive in any way. Teeeheee.

Take everyone who left before as an example and leave this forum alone. Unless you have nothing else to do, which would be pretty pathetic, you should finally do the only logical thing and leave the game and the people in charge you hate so much alone, since you made your point multiple times now. But I guess you will continue to pester us with your presence for some additional months.

ppl cba to play incomplete game that should be still in test stage... gamers especially those pc ones are not tollerate for such mistakes, there are plenty of other titles avaible to choose(tf2 for free etc.)

not really. i was messing about with the heavy type last night.
a heavy will only kill you if he sees you first. if not he will die. i got killed plenty of times with bursts to the head from a carb9. less than a second from full health. it takes longer than that for some of the guns to even fire. then all the heavy guns have massive deviation.
yes, if you walk around a corner and i have a gotlung spinning i will kill you quick, if you already arent at full HP.
dont nerf the heavy yet. he is still easy to kill (doesnt feel like much more HP than medium to be honest) and due to lack of speed he is easier to hit too.

its a PC only fix if you read it. as in it doesnt need to work for the consoles. im guessing a bug with the original DLC
see, if PC and consoles were done together you would now have to wait 2 weeks for M$ to allow a patch.
this is why people should release on PC first as it is more flexible. we can get 2 patches in a day. you wait 2 weeks for one.
