Now I really have to think about who I'm reserving with. The last two look so cool and I really want that pistol. I just wish you could wear the bag on your head as a security fighter as well.

are these items gonna affect gameplay? or does "exclusive weapon" mean "exclusive weapon skin"? ... i hope it's the skin... :|

I'm confused, will this game require steam or not? I've heard some people talking about but I haven't seen anything on the official game website in listing the requirements, and when I went to the pre-order page it didn't specify that steam was required.

game will require steam activation

I think I might get the Walmart version this time, I like that mask and machine pistol.

Its got to be the psycho for me! A can for a silencer... so awesome
Posted on 23 December, 2010 - 19:13
I've gotta get the scope and I'm going to specifically pre-order it from wal-mart so I can call it my wal-mart scope. EDIT: Also, I'm wondering if you can activate multiple pre-order codes. If you are only putting down 5-10 bucks on a pre-order to get a code then hell... I'd get all 4 sets.

I like the sloani mask and machine pistol but tortured soul tattoo and soda can silencer is so awsome, i really hope that they get released as dlc at some point like Soul Calibur 4 did with Darth Vader and Yoda
Posted on 24 December, 2010 - 00:41
im just wondering how much dmge the revolver vs that pistol will do. im assuming rapid fire on the machine pistol. but still. Psycho or Spec. i think its fair to say there will be armies of scarecrow teams when the game releases lol

Sack head. Hands down. Kind of inspiring for a Halloween costume next year.

You got Conqs number alright, Senethro. The skins don't bother me at all.... ....but those new guns and attachments on two of the pre-order bonuses make me nervous as hell. I really hope SD don't ruin the chance of their game being the next king of fun, competitive of shooters by including pay-to-win-esque mechanics, no matter how marginal they are.

I thought the greeneye scope was still going to be unlockable on Brink. Is it really not going to be available if you don't pre-order? I keep reading contradicting reports. Also, I thought the silencers for the psycho pack were just skins for some silencers... I would really like some positive information regarding these things. LoL

Yes the silencers are just skins. Where tdid you read that the greeneye was unlockable?
Posted on 6 March, 2011 - 09:23
http://brink.wikia.com/wiki/Greeneye_Scope It says the greeneye scope will be received early if you get the pack, and if you watch the gun customization videos it does show a rifle getting scope attachments and greeneye scope is listed with the rest. It wouldn't be if it was only available through pre-order, right? It also makes it seem as if the hockler machine pistol is only unlocked early rather than exclusive, but that is less clear.

Well, if the Spec-Ops and Psycho packs were just ''earlier unlocks'' then that would be pretty.. Well.. ****ty?

I completely agree with you on that. I think it would be really pointless to just have them as early unlocks (although apparently they're meant to be brag rights so I highly doubt it). It really seems as if it would be exclusive weapons, the only thing is that the scope seems like an early unlock and the silencers are basically just skins for a silencer. However, it would be nice to have an official comment on the matter from the makers on what the attachment pre-order bonus' really are, early unlocks, skins or full on exclusives. Look at this ------> "Part of the appeal of Brink is the robust character customization in the game, and these special pre-order items are meant to be "brag" items that tell other people that you were of the early adopters, poised on the Brink. Take a look below at what you'll get." Read more: http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/706914/Exclusive-Pre-Order-Items-For-Brink-Announced-At-QuakeCon-2010.html#ixzz1FqUulVI9

The build of the game that this person is showing off in the video probably has all unlockables and maps unlocked.

The weapons probably have identical stats to similar non-pre-order weapons.

So you're saying they kept exclusive bonuses available in the trailer even though that means plenty of people won't have it available or that it is just early unlocked if you get the pre-order bonus? I think the machine pistol would be exclusive and maybe the bonus exclusive is that you can attach a scope to a pistol. I think I read somewhere that you could only use ironsights and red dot attachments on pistols, no scopes.
Posted on 6 March, 2011 - 20:24
I doubt it will unbalance the game much. When BF2142 was first released, buying it from Best Buy got you a weapon reskin. Turns out, the weapons had slightly different stats than it's original cousin, but it was so marginal there wasn't an advantage. These weapons will probably either have non preorder counterparts or be free. I don't think Splash Damage would punish us like that would you?

Several of the trailers show pistols with red dot or reflex sights.

Exactly, like I said ironsights OR red dot attachments. That's what I read or saw in an interview or something at least.

Hopefully. I really despise the thought that somebody might have an unfair advantage on me (however small it is).
Posted on 7 March, 2011 - 05:04
Wooooooo I'm gonna red dot it up all over the place.
Posted on 7 March, 2011 - 05:27
some people confuse red-dot sights with laser sights, red-dot suspends a dot reticule in your vision, you can use it with both eyes open, lasers put a dot on the target, very little range

This. And This again. You probably took my "all over the place" as the dot being all over the place... I actually meant running around the map. I hate laser dots, and I hate scopes since I don't like the quick zoom and it usually takes me that extra half a second to properly locate my target. Think looking through a straw. I like iron sights since you can still properly take in your whole environment but they obscure vision of the target a little, so red dots are brilliant since they give minor zoom, and allow you to nice and quickly locate your target.

Oh yeah? Well, I'm going to go green dot all over your red dottery! And the red-green colorblind will have no idea whats going on!!
Posted on 7 March, 2011 - 13:53
Green Dot would be nice because it's my usuall crosshair. :)
