Production Testers Wanted!
Submitted by badman on Thu, 02/09/2012 - 17:51
Do you like playing games and breaking them in the process? Splash Damage is currently looking to hire additional Production Testers to join us in our offices near London. This a contract position and a great way to break into the industry.
What does a Production Tester do, you ask? Well, among other things:
- Running daily test cases
- Reporting, managing and tracking bugs via our bug tracking system
- Performing regression testing and verifying fixes
- Writing detailed test documentation
- Ensuring tests are completed in accordance with project deadlines
- Providing feedback and suggestions for improvements to the game
- Ensuring that all bugs are recorded in a clear and consistent format, keeping with the standard required of our testers
If this tickles you in all the right places, check out the full Production Tester job description and follow the instructions for sending in your resume and cover letter. We look forward to hearing from you!

At what period of time do you want the testing being done? I would absolutely love to come over this summer.
(Really glad to hear about the Unreal engine change of heart)

Since the project concerned is not announced I hope you'll understand if I am unable to go into certain details.
We currently have positions for an immediate start. In the future we may require additional testers, so it might be worth applying even if you wouldn't be available to start immediately. We keep past applications on file but if you haven't been in contact for a while it's always best to send through an updated CV to show you're still interested.
Be sure to mention the projects you've worked on, the platforms/operating systems you've tested on and the start/end dates of the position(s) you have held in quality assurance.

Ahh i'd love to do this, i've had experience doing the same at Lionhead Studios on a super secret game. But i think all my college work and getting everything ready for uni this year would mean i wouldn't be able to do this. :/

Of course not. It's just that production tester is the ideal internship job so they probably want to refresh that batch every year.

To be clear, the current positions advertised are not internships, we would be looking for prior testing experience at a developer or publisher.

Alright. I'll pass on this and wait till I'm graduated. Breaking it off now is going to be a very costly affair :)
