The People

The people who make up Splash Damage's talented team hail from over a dozen different countries, including faraway kingdoms like Canada and Australia, as well as closer - but no less foreign - places like Scotland and Liverpool. Every once in a while, we tie one of them to a chair and force them to answer questions about their work and gaming in general. You can find the resulting interviews on this page. Enjoy!

The Studio

What We're All About

Here at Splash Damage, our goal is simple: We want to develop genre-leading AAA experiences that are highly regarded among reviewers and gamers alike. Today we’re best known for our 8 consecutive number one hits and more that 330 awards and nominations in some of the world’s most famous universes. We've created the Enemy Territory franchise for id Software, have dominated the multiplayer aspects of Doom 3 and Batman: Arkham Origins, scaled new heights with Brink, and released RAD Soldiers on mobile and desktop, and worked on Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. Most recently we've worked on Gears of War 4 multiplayer, and have our first wholly owned IP for PC, Dirty Bomb in Open Beta on Steam.

Since the company was founded 16 years ago by three friends that played and made games together the values of friendship and loyalty have been cornerstones at Splash Damage. As an AAA video game developer we prize autonomy and self-reliance above most other values. Still today, 16 years after we first sniped each other on the decks of Two Forts, we remain entirely dedicated to creating the most entertaining, competitive, and collaborative experiences and that pursuit must be as fun and rewarding for staff as it is for our fans.

We want to ensure everyone here enjoys a healthy work/life balance. Thanks to our flexitime arrangement, employees are able to manage their start time and working hours, and can convert overtime into extra holiday days. And to help you keep in shape, we offer a complimentary health club and gym membership to all full-time members of staff.

And finally, we pride ourselves on our cultural diversity. With team members hailing from some 30 countries, we are about as diverse as it gets.

Online Interviews

Sometimes we wheel ourselves out from behind our desks in order to talk to people in the media and to spread the Splash Damage gospel. Here are a few of these attempts:

Featured Interviews

featured coverageThe Telegraph interviews Paul Wedgwood
"We're never going to do a film tie in that has to come out in time for the movie, we're not going to do ports or expansions of other people's games unless it's developer IP that we absolutely love. So we'll happily work on other people's IP, but it has to have credibility. There has to be this vision that if we work on an IP it will be brilliant envisaged as a video game."
featured coverageEdge Online interviews Paul Wedgwood
"Nailing the crunch problem is a real priority for Splash Damage, and getting to a point where, when we do overtime, it's planned in advance and we're able to compensate people appropriately for, in an ideal world, volunteering to do additional work."
