Brink Coverage Round-up: PAX East and Beyond

PAX East has come and gone, and it was an absolutely fantastic show for Brink. With queues stretching to up to six hours and a community event that was completely full over an hour before it even started, interest in the game was about as high as it gets. Many hundreds of people got to play the game over the three days of the show - a lot of them coming through two or three times over the course of the show. The response has been utterly great and we'd like to throw a general thank you out there to everyone who stopped by and those who helped make it all happen.

If you couldn't make it out to PAX East, we recommend checking out forum member Maawdawg's super-detailed write-up over at The Brink Forum. It's not only full of Brink impressions, but also gives you a pretty good idea of what the show was like for those heeding the call of Brink. In other PAX East news, we're delighted to see that Brink made Strategy Informer's Top 10 Games of PAX East, vaulting straight into the #3 position and making it the highest-placed shooter on the list.

But that's not all - there are plenty of other new write-ups from PAX East and even the preceding Brink press tour. Here's a list:

Teamplay "A Matter of Class" in New Brink Trailer

A brand-new Brink trailer's here, offering a glimpse at the game's classes and how they work together on the battlefield. Titled "A Matter of Class", the trailer also shows off this year's playable PAX East centerpiece Security Tower along with a few other of the Ark's districts.

You can catch the video via the embed below or in magnificient HD over in the Splash Damage YouTube channel.

If you missed it a couple of weeks ago, don't forget to check out the Choir of Guns trailer, too.

Brink Coverage Round-up: Pre-PAX Edition

Game ReactorThe effects of February's Brink press tour are still being felt across the internet, with a number of new previews and interviews appearing online. The latest issue of the iPad edition of Game Reactor magazine deserves a special mention right up front, featuring a bunch of Brink goodness including their hands-on impressions and an interview with Lead Writer Ed 'Bongoboy' Stern. It's also got Brink's The Freak archetype right on the front for that extra bit of style.

Hungry for more? Check out the list below for the latest hands-on impressions:

Huge Brink Community Event at PAX East

If you're headed to PAX East this week, we've got a very special surprise for you. In addition to Brink being playable at the show, we'll also be having a separate Brink community event for the game on Friday night from 8 PM - 11 PM. Brink will be taking over Boston's Black Falcon Terminal and do some extensive redecorating there involving several full-blown multiplayer setups and a general coat of what can only be described as Concentrated Awesome.

You'll also be getting a full dose of Splash Damage out there, with Media Director Richard 'Fluffy_gIMp' Jolly, Art Director Olivier 'Nosebone' Leonardi, Lead Writer Ed 'BongoBoy' Stern, God of IT Ben 'Randles' Hopkinson, and myself on hand for a match or three, as well as the odd chat.

On top of all that, there'll be some very special giveaways for you to get your hands on, so really, you don't want to be missing out on this if you're anywhere near the state of Massachusetts at the time. Space is limited, so we strongly recommend you get there early to make sure you make it in.

We hope to see you there!

Brink Playable at PAX East Next Week

The Penny Arcade Expo's easterly cousin PAX East gets underway next week in Boston, and we'll be there with a playable version of Brink in tow. Attendees will get to play a new level, Security Tower, which sees desperate Resistance fighters attempting to break one of their own out of the Security's main headquarters on the Ark. It's a ton of fun to play and we think you'll like it.

PAX East kicks off next Friday and runs through Sunday, March 13, and takes place at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. For more information, hit the PAX website. We'll have more details to share next week!
