Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars
Last Chance: Vote for Enemy Territory to be Featured in PC Gamer's Top 100
Voting for this year's PC Gamer Top 100 is drawing to a close in less than two days, making this your last chance to ensure the Enemy Territory games make the cut. Both Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars are up for inclusion, with Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory previously making PC Gamer's own Editorial Top 100 at #69.
Voting could not be simpler: Just make an account, pick your five favorite games of all time (use the links above to quickly get to ET goodness), and submit the list.
As an added bonus, the PC Gamer crew is also looking for user comments to be included in their upcoming print feature about this year's Top 100. If you fancy being featured in the article and want to tell them why you like the Enemy Territory games, drop them a line at pcgamer@futurenet.com or post in this forum thread on their website.

Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Websites Temporarily Offline
If you were looking to get your Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars fix on the internet today, you'll have noticed EnemyTerritory·com redirecting to Activision's own site. Due to unforeseen issues, the Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars websites - including the main marketing, Community, and Statistics sites - are currently inaccessible. Men with keyboards are working to get the issues resolved, but unfortunately there is currently no solid estimate for when that might be. We'll do our best to keep you updated on the situation.
In the meantime, if you're looking for some forum action, why not stop by Splash Damage's own forums? We've got StroggTapirs and everything!
New Quake Wars Online Teaser Trailer Released
A brand-new teaser trailer has been released for Quake Wars Online, the free-to-play version of Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars being created for the Korean market. Quake Wars Online is in development at South Korean studio Dragonfly and features ETQW's familiar GDF and Strogg forces as they battle it out for Earth using a multitude of weapons, deployables, and vehicles.
Better yet, the game's freshly relaunched website has word that Quake Wars Online is moving into a limited public testing phase with slots for some 100,000 willing gamers. If you fancy participating, you can sign up until December 28, though it looks like this is available to Korean players only.
You can check the new teaser trailer out below. Continue reading »
Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Deployed Two Years Ago
It's hard to believe, but Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars arrived on your Earth on this date two years ago. A heartfelt thanks goes out to the Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars community past and present - you guys elevated the game to new heights and truly made it your own. Keep on fragging/constructing/hacking!
Incidentally, since presents always make birthdays better (scientifically proven!), why not give MoP's new map Teamjungle Beta a try?
ETQW Stroyent Campaign Wins Another Marketing Award
The winners of the 2009 MI6 Awards are in and Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars has won another one of the coveted statuettes after already being awarded a Silver Muse for Best Wrapping last year. This time, though, the judges were apparently quite taken with the Projectile Dysfunction awareness campaign, which took home a Silver Muse in the "Don't You Wish You'd Thought of This" category. Earlier in the year, the Mobius Awards also honored the PD campaign with their award for Best New Media Campaign.
On a related note, congratulations are also in order for our friends over at Bethesda who are currently trying to dig themselves out from under pile of no less than nine of this year's MI6 awards for Fallout 3 and its various associated marketing activities.
Play QUAKE Wars with PC Gamer and Splash Damage, Part Deux

Everything's set to start off at 7 PM that day and if you want in, just join the PC Gamer Steam Group - server IPs (there'll be more than one this time!) and passwords will be distributed via the group's chat room just before kickoff. We hope to see you there!
PC Action Names QUAKE Wars One of the Best FPS Games Ever
German gaming magazine PC Action has put together a list of what they think are the 33 best first person shooters of all time. We're delighted to see Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars on the list and all the way up at #11, snuggling up to BioShock. To see which other games they included, check out the full list on PC Action's website.
Intel's Daniel Pohl Quizzed About QUAKE Wars: Ray Traced
Pappy-R over at PlanetQuake managed to distract Intel's Daniel Pohl long enough to get him to answer a few questions about his latest and much-publicized project QUAKE Wars: Ray Traced. If this is the first time you're hearing of it, QUAKE Wars: Ray Traced is, somewhat unsurprisingly, a modified version of Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars employing ray-tracing. What good is ray-tracing, you ask? Well, it basically allows for pixel-perfect shadows and reflection at the expense of a significant CPU power. To find out more about the project, how it was conceived, how it works, and what it all means for the future of gaming, check out the full interview with Daniel.
Advertising Award Honors Projectile Dysfunction
Projectile Dysfunction is not only a serious issue, but now also an award-winning advertising campaign thanks to the 2008 Mobius Awards. Founded in 1967, the Mobius Awards honor creative excellence in advertising and it seems that Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars is this year's winner in the New Media category thanks to Stroyent.com.
If you can't remember or are trying to forget, Stroyent.com features clips addressing Projectile Dysfunction, apparently a common issue among Strogg that is easily treatable with nutricious and shootlicious Stroyent capsules. The site was put together by Los Angeles-based DDB and the RoosterTeeth folks (of Red vs Blue fame). Congratulations to everyone involved!
