I had read a really good thread somewhere (here) about making good, efficient rubbled buildings. I have not been able to find it here or on any of the sites listed in the sticky. Can anyone lend a hand? Thanks

That method is good for floor rubble, but for broken walls, gensruf can save you mucho time. With gensurf I can make a broken wall, fitted to the dimensions I want in about 60 seconds.
To do so, make a wall where you want the broken wall to go, then select plugins->gensurf->ground surface. Then play with the settings and watch the preview window to see how they are working. And set decimate to at least 50. Play around with the rest of the settings to learn how best to use them.
