When i take screengrabs on my laptop it aint workin:
Desktop: Set to auto use JPEG - works like a treat.
Change it to no and the TGA files are saved instead no problem.
Laptop: Auto use JPG - images are a complete mess of pixalated colour with occasional 'ghost' images. Like Black n White TV fuzz only in colour
Set to no and the TGA files are produced perfectly.
Both are running XP SP1 and lappy is decent enough ( 1.2 / 512ram / 40gb / ATI radeon 9000)
Any Ideas?

Well if you don't mind only being able to take one screenshot at a time you could always use the ALT+PRINTSREEN keys. Hold alt down and press printscreen, but see then you have to go into paint or photoshop and paste it in, then save it from there. So it isn't all that handy but it may produce decent shots.

yeah ive tried that but the problem is i usually forget to paste it in pshop.. the in game function is handy if you are taking loads of shots per game (trying to get some nice profile shots ya see)
the TGA files are like 1.5 mb each thats why i want to get the jpg's working.

Good news:- I think it's a known issue with ATI cards.
Bad news:- ain't got a clue what the solution is however.

That would make sense as my desktop has a Gforce4 and its has no problems. I guss the solution is just to accept the TGA files!

Seems like it. Unless your hurting for disk space, then you might as well take the TGA's. You can always change em to JPG's in photoshop.

Still doesn't make sense to me. If it's possible to grab the frame buffer it shouldn't matter which format ET saves it in. ATI cards have a problem with FSAA and screenshots (they get all black), but that affects both JPEG and TGA. And I'm pretty certain JPEG screenshots worked on my 9600 before the card broke down. :( :( :( :(

Ati cards => Ati Drivers :)
All worked fine here before I updated drivers :P

New drivers created the problem for you then Salteh?
