i wanted to make a massive campaign with about 20 maps and went a got some of the new maps for ET, i had played them online before and therefore thought they would be cool to use, but, when i created a custom campaign script pnly about half the maps worked.
when i added the maps in question, (one at a time), and tested the campaign, et would crash. i narrowed it to the maps that did work (original 6 + river, carnage2, normandy_final, rhine2). the rest of the newer maps crashed.
i then ran the maps singly in objective mode, they ran fine, but when i tried to referee switch to a differnet map, ET crashed.
runnning win XP, so the error in the crash is of course obscured by the Micro$oft gibberish, so i really don't know what is happening. but basically, if i use these certain maps--- foo=bar, if i don't use them, everything fine...... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I have noticed a similar problem on Linux, i.e. that there is a maximum number of maps you can have in a campaign (I have not yet narrowed it down to the exact number), so it's not only a Windows issue.

Dont know anything about Server configs but Terminal Insanity server (west i think) is runing an 8 new map custom server that d/loads a server config called 'custom.pk3' - maybe you could borrow elements of that for your config as it works a treat when i host a game using it.

The servers my clan runs have the same problem with a custom campaign. We had a script going but the server just crashes on it as said in the first post. I'dd be really interested in any solution this thread brings aswell, thanks.

It is an overflow error like this (http://forums.ardiem.net/viewtopic.php?t=180) one?
And the largest campaign I played was a ten map campaign. But I think more than 6 maps in a campaign are not good (to many level 4 guys).

no, it's not an error like that, in fact in doesn't appear to be a buffer error at all.
i am unsure if it actaully writes an error report in the log, it doesn't seem to get that far into the campaign.
but i will check for it.

As far as I know, 10 maps is the most any campaign can run. I have never seen or heard of any server running more than 10 and we have tried.

here is the error that windows displays:
AppName: et.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: ui_mp_x86.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 000055b2
so far that is the error, that i can grab.....
but, it did pop up after i added an eleventh map....hmmm...

So maybe 10 is the limit then? Just post the IP here when you've got it working so I can make sure to avoid it. (hate these multi-map campaigns).

10 maps is the limit. (Try building a custom campaign with 11 oasis maps. The game will crash as soon as you hit 'Host Game'). Also, there are certain maps that will either crash the game or cause the default campaign to load if you add them to your custom campaign (password2 comes to mind)
