ClanBase ET Open Cup

CB Open Cup (http://www.clanbase.com/news_league.php?lid=1042) is starting soon, but really I'm looking for thoughts on the rules (http://www.clanbase.com/rules.php?lid=1042) that have been posted today. Since this is a major ET cup, it is liable to have a lot of influence on the rules used for Euro ET competitions in future.

I dont think much of the cvar restrictions, here's why (http://www.rtcw.jolt.co.uk/index.php?page=&action=show&id=4019) if you can be bothered reading it. Also a lot of odd choices in the rest of the server setup (sv_fps 30 especially) and the map listing including that beta conversion of mp_base?

Any major tourneys going on in North America, with detailed rules?

They will probably learn alot from this cup with the rules and CVARS as they go along,so by the next major cup they are most likely to have much better and more thought out set of regulations through the experiences encountered in this one.Players and Match Admins feed back will go along way to doing this.

Agree with you on some of the cvar restrictions. We're seeing a lot of RTCW cvar restrictions nowadays seem to be based on mis-conceptions rather than specific exploits, and it appears ET is following suit.

Some of these look a bit pointless:-

pb_sv_cvar cg_shadows in 0 1 - is there a setting other than 0 or 1?

pb_sv_cvar r_lightmap in 0 1 - is there a setting other than 0 or 1?

pb_sv_cvar r_uifullscreen in 0 - didn't think r_uifullscreen 1 had any effect in ET?

And what would be the effect of a client using snaps < 30 (20 - 40 allowable range) if the server is using sv_fps 30?

I'd also prefer ETPro to Shrub's Tourney Mod, but I don't think Bani has added settings for limiting each Class (yet?).
