OK This is what I asking.....

Let's say I dont want the "MODS", "Sound Paks" downloaded from a sever I'm playing on.

Everyone else might have it that on it but I don't want it. :banghead:

"Maps" are ok, to download, :chef:

it the extra stuff that I wish to not download. Is there a way to get around this problem.

Don't I have the option to join a sever without it clever files and stuff. I just wish to keep my orginial ET.

I know noquarter and jaymod stuff can add favor and enhance experience but....?

What could I do besides ,leave?
:uhoh:

turn off downloads.
but then u have to make sure u do have all maps/mod specific files before u join.
u cannot specify what to download and what not, not even the admin can this.
would require an extra mod.

Correct!

While my teammates see the addons and hear new sounds packs playing ,skins and colors .

I'd want to be running in deault mode (classic) mode on the same sever uneffected.

To a littlier end I recall a teaamate said "does anyone else see , white horse on the landmines flags" at the time I had not downloaded that pak. later on I realized what he meant.

But those are simple and optional paks.

The Big One that force you to download or else no play.. :?:

Yeah, but how do you turn off downloads?

dont think it is possible on most servers, only if the server has the setting sv_pure 0, but that makes it unstable I heard.... So most servers have sv_pure 1

Best thing you could do is just go to servers with no extra downloads.... etpro servers mostly

You can use cl_allowdownload 0 to turn off downloads. Your client will not download files if that's set to 0.
(could be cl_allowdownloads, not sure).

I did find how, but it is not always guaranteed to work. It's under options, then game, then find downloads, and put it where you want it to be.
