Is it possible to make a dual objective tank escort map? And if so, who's gonna make one? :moo:

Its possible alright, but only a scripting lunatic with nerves of steel would attempt it! ;)

How about a tank drag race ? Teams start on a road side by side, and try to get the tank to the end first :moo:

That dragrace idea wouldnt work...the tanks go at the same speed. If you make one take faster than the other it would just be retarded

Here's my idea for it BTW.

The basic layout would be a big square with the spawns in opposite corners. ie. Axis left top, Allies right bottom.

Then the tank would start across from the spawns. ie. Axis right top Allies left bottom. Then u gotta take the tanks to where the other side's tank spawned.

that way there's less incentive for spawnkilling. It'd require both defence and offence. Oh and the tanks would possibly go very close to each other in the middle :)

You miss the point.

The tanks wouldn't move unless there was a player next to it. Therefore, the race would be to escort your tank while preventing the other team from escorting theirs.

i'm a gonna make a minecart race, with one man a cart, and allies and axis fighting to change the points and lift leavers :P

I would assume that you can kill/repair the tanks as well. Interesting idea.

what a sweet idea! you'd have to place your spawns just right though, you wouldn't want a deadlock. or think of some other way (such as a couple inventive paths to the spline). very cool!

Yeah, it wouldn't HAVE to be a drag race. You could do a road course. It would be a bit of trouble to make sure that they got equally good lines.

If you wanted to be really silly, you could put constructables in each teams pit area for upgrades ...

Me, gearhead ? Never!

Yep, perfectly possible with the scripting system as their is support for local/global variables. You could even have construction in the path of the vehicles like road blocks etc.

does it have support for randomising?

The scripting system supports *computer* random number generation. You can create variables with random values and base script decisions on the variable value. Obviously computers are not perfect at generating true random numbers, buts its close enough! ;)
