Crosshair stops moving...

This has happened 3 times in the last 2 weeks.
I am playing ET. I use minET to minimise ET and do something. I go back on ET. My crosshair doesn't move when I move the mouse. All cvars are as they should be. If I go in the limbo menu I can move the pointer on there. If I do cl_showmouserate 1 and then move the mouse the console comes up with the data. But in the game, my crosshair doesn't move. Even if I restart ET, it still won't move. I can walk around and shoot, but not move the crosshair. Also, +left and +right don't work either.
So far, I've had to reinstall ET to fix this. Anyone have any ideas as to what is the problem? I think it may be something to do with a new map loading while ET is minimised, or something like that...

Try /in_restart next time it happens. Just a guess.

Well, it's happened again. This time with no usage of minET - I just loaded a server (after playing offline WITH xhair working) and found that it wasn't moving. in_restart has no effect. in_mouse to 0 then back to 1, with in_restart's in between has no effect. Restarting ET has no effect. Reconnecting to the server has no effect.
I don't want to reinstall again because I've done it 3 times already, and it's still happening.
Anyone have any other ideas?

EDIT: now it's even managed to happen on a separate installation of ET I kept for juggling different patches... :|

EDIT2: still can't fix it. if it keeps deciding to intermittently NOT LET ME USE THE MOUSE - I can't continue to play ET :disgust:
