View Full Version : Recommend new provider?
[COM] PAIN
7th October 2006, 16:10
Hi all,
We've learned that our server provider is shutting down their game servers at the end of Oct.
So, we find ourselves in need of a new game server provider.
Can anyone recommend an excellent North American (Linx) provider with excellent ping, service and reliability?
Thanks in advance.

While they may have a reputation as the McDonalds of game server providers, I've been quite happy with GameServers (http://gameservers.com) (formerly ClanServers). They don't allow access to the commandline, but are quick to respond when you open a ticket (how often do you need access anyway?). And they have a "clan pay" thing, where anyone can "chip in" towards the monthly cost. If you have a large clan, this can spread the cost out so it's hardly an issue.
Our ET server (see sig, located in NYC area) is always empty, unfortunately, but the few times we've had enough on for a decent game it's been smooth sailing. Definitely no connection issues on their end, and the hardware would appear to be plenty beefy.
