time estimate for each compile stage command?

Is there a command to estimate the time each stage will take, it would be very useful, like zoners tools. A hours and minutes format would be pretty good.

The progress bars have also become less and less accurate over time, though i've talked with ydnar about this, and he believes he can remedy this.
