Can someone tell me what's the format ? I see it's zipped, but If I'm about to spend 2.5 hours downloading zipped .wmv (I use linux) and not be able to view it, I'm going to be a little pissed off.

I can play some .wmv files, but not others. Yes, with VLC. When it doesn't work, I can only hear sound.

Great footage and great camerawork. Overall, it seems like Quake Wars is going to maintain ET's fast-paced gameplay, as opposed to the slow moving foottrodding of Battlefield 2.

Got to see a lot of good stuff. Interesting to see how the ranger camera works, with the multi-purpose little wristcomp, and a Strogg player fumble with the Goliath combat walker.

but If I'm about to spend 2.5 hours downloading

2.5 hours?! What is your connection speed...I got it in 11 mins...Only 2meg line.

I don't exactly know what kind of connection is that (because I get it from a local provider) but my download transfer seems to be capped at 37-39 kb/sek. It's some kind of 'big' connection shared over my district.
Oh, and shortly after writing that post it dropped from max speed to aroun 26kb/sek. 1:50h left (estimated)
At least I found w32 codecs in the meantime.
My local admin is quite lame (not just my judgement), so my connection quite often malfunctions, and ping can be pretty unstable. It can be 50ish in game, for several hours, then 300ish for several hours. It sucks.

great video i would recomend the download

also likely the minimal amounts of drivables in the videos hope its like this in the game. although they are there they dont seem to make you redundant when your on foot and the fast move pace doesnt look frustrating like the bf2 crawl

Excellent video. Quake Wars is certainly shaping up to be everything I'd hoped it would be. You can just tell straight away that the spirit of Wolf ET is there.

The human running/walking/working animations are perfect!
The "fat" feeling of the doom3 bodies is there. The shadows. The.. DID YOU SEE THAT STROGG DOING THAT THING TO THE HUMAN?
The speed, it is still there!

Must. Relax.

i just checked the planetquake4.net site for more trailers like this and found the following intersting statistic:

Enemy Territory: QuakeWars E3 Video (High), 269 MB: Downloads Total: 11053
Enemy Territory: QuakeWars E3 Video (Low), 22 MB: Downloads Total: 1863

the interesting part isn't the high number of downloads, but more that so many people (in such a short time) have downloaded the high bandwidth version. i mean 269 MB is quite a lot for a 6 minute gameplay vid ... :)

Bandwith is cheap and lots of people have fast connections nowdays. 300 meg is nothing.

Maybe in Sweden, but you don't get cheap highspeed connections in every country mate.

here's a bit more from the guys at planetquake4.net:

http://planetquake4.net/download.php?op=fileid&lid=2306

although you need to get a 355 mb vid to get a bit of quake wars because the vid is about the E3, not QW alone: Also included with the video is a bit of QuakeWars footage that wasn't included in the first video.

edit: you don't necessarily need to see that one, QW is only 30 seconds in it, nothing spectacular.

here it is. unfortunately wmm reencoded the whole file to 640x480. dunno why, looks like it has no support for direct clip copy from a given file. anyway, here's the link:

(wmv, 8mb)

as i said: not that much interesting.
