making elevator?

how can i make an elevator?
i want the elevator to stand still until someone call on it

and if it is possible: in the elevator i want 2 activation buttons one to make it go up and one to make it go down

i have been able to make the elevator but it doesnt say anything about how to make the button panels to work so the elevator moves.
how is that done?
