Q.
MAX_SURFACE_VERTS
A. This usually happens with large maps, it occurs when you have 256+ vertices on one face, which reminds me of the MAX_POINTS_ON_WINDING which has a limit of 64 vertices touching one brush, so its odd how it can even happen. Anywho you need to rectify the error by not having so many vertices on one brush!
how do i fix this?

do you have any really complicated brushs? like one single brush that curves alot of makes alot of weird twists and turns?

Do you have any really really long brushes, that are touched by tons of other brushes? Like a long railing?

yes my building have i guess maybe 300 floors touching.
would it help if i moved the edges off all floors 1 bit away? (the smallest bit there is) so there is a small space between the building walls and the floor?

i think it would, then you wouldnt ahev the vertices of them joining..

Ifurita has a bunch of clear and pedagogical tutorials. Read his signature for the link.

And if you're having a buiding, you need some cool laboratory doors:
http://www.acc.umu.se/~loffy/mapping/prefabs/labdoors/laboratory_doors.pk3 (.map-file is included, as a prefab, inside the pk3. Just rename to .zip and unzip the pk3).

Just rename to .zip and unzip the pk3).
well actually on my pc and some of my friends it works best if we keep it as a .pk3 and just ure winrar and rightclick and select unzip with winrar dunno why but sometimes if i rename it to .zip some files are damaged.
