Things You Were Too Afraid to Ask: Ben 'mantegra' Davies

Character Artist Ben 'mantegra' Davies is the latest and most unsuspecting-est subject of our tireless series of staff interviews. We originally imported (or is that re-imported?) Ben from Australia many years ago to work on Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars and he's now part of the team behind the characters in Brink.

To find out more about Ben, how he got his start in 3D modeling, his tips for aspiring artists, and why replacing n's with r's always results in cool nicknames, slip your shrimp/eyeballs on the barbie/full interview in his profile.

He has admitted to riding ostriches and pigs and eating kangaroo, although almost always after they're dead. No, he doesn't ride the ostriches and pigs after they're, no, that's right, yes, no, yes, yes, the kangaroos are dead and yes, that's right. Good, glad we cleared that up.
Haha! That cracked me up! I have to read more of these interviews. Keep up the Great modelling Ben!

Hi! Great work on GDF. Did you leave your country and moved to London? Must have been a big step. In ETQW, the overheat animation for the hyperblaster is funny - I appreciated it. Will we see similar animations, with touches of humour in them, in BRINK?
