QUAKE Wars WCG Qualifiers Tonight - Watch Live

wcg.pngThe qualifiers for the Quake Wars Online tournament at the World Cyber Games Grand Finals get underway tonight, with the winning team going on to represent the United States at the Grand Finals later this month. Run by Seanza and INF3RNO, the qualifiers feature some of Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars' most prestigious North American teams, some of which are even coming out for retirement for the occasion.

Better yet, you'll be able to watch select matches as they happen via either ETQW TV or video streams with live commentary. Keep reading for the schedule for tonight's first round, along with casting and TV information.

Round 1 | 9:00 PM EST / 2:00 AM BST | Map: Ark

Round 2 | 9:50 PM EST | 2:50 AM BST | Map: Quarry

Round 3 | 10:40 PM EST | 3:40 AM BST | Map: Refinery

If you're utterly unfamiliar with ETQW TV, it essentially lets you spectate QUAKE Wars matches right in the game, as if you were right there on the server where the match is taking place. All you have to do is connect to the IP address listed at the bottom of the respective GamesTV link. If you're intrigued by all this and want to set up your own ETQW TV server, hit the Splash Damage Wiki for the details.

Round 2 of the qualifiers is set to take place tomorrow evening. Stay tuned for match and TV information!

good game TAW. So is it fair to assume that you guys definitely do a lot of tormentor drops in Quarry for your internal TAW games, yeah? y'all got that to a system.

HOT was a no show?
Posted on 14 September, 2010 - 06:18
Go F8, I wanna see the trash talking Daniel can give 'em at WCG.

Will the ETQW TV streams be downloadable in the future?

HOT was a no show?\
HOT lost first game to Fate, then decided to quit the tourney after, causing instant wins for the teams they were matched against after. >.<

Poor sportsmanship.

Want to apologize for technical difficulties on the casting. HOT has left the tourney, which reduced the number of matches today as well. Mattc0m experienced some last second problems so we had to wing it on learning how to use ustream. Tomorrows match streams should include a live video feed and start on time. Brandon turned out to be a pretty great caster after listening to his recording even though it was a bit short. Unfortunately the most epic game of the day, FATE vs TAW on Quarry did not get recorded :(. I attempted to throw in a cast of DCM vs F8, but if you watched it or listened you can tell that I lost enthusiasm as soon as DCM did . (Also I believe I accidently streamed my webcam for the first minute or two lmao). Stay tuned tomorrow for FATE vs AmeriMiX on salvage! Will also attempt to get a 2nd stream up of TAW vs DCM so that there are some actual VODs (if DCM is playing), and then AmeriMiX vs TAW on Sewer.

Audio only @ the ustream link :/. Tonights matches will have video/audio. There was some trouble getting the cast to work last night and TAW vs FATE on Quarry did not get recorded, but I am sure someone can post their demo of it :).

just use pro mod, normal ETQW. that is what qualifiers are.

oh normal quake wars, well, no point in me watching the qualifiers then. Well I do hope the USA team can get a feel for the updated ETQW maps that are in QWO, and the fact that soldiers can't use AR/LAC, and the thing with only some classes can use knife, and the difference between ETQW and QWO. Come to think of it, playing QWO would be like North American born hockey players playing on European ice. The game is different, but yet it is also the same. Well anyway, isn't QWO supposed to be free in the korean market? Kind of like Wolfenstein Enemy Territory in our markets, where both games have around 5-6 maps? I also saw screenshots of volcano on the QWO site, so they might add in volcano, but I'm not sure because I can't read Korean. Also do you think that the map changes are so that the maps are TDM ready?

Why first game yesterday between AmeriMIX and F8 was 20 minutes timed and second match was only 5 minutes ?

It was stopwatch mode. Attacking team sets a time, and then the other has to beat it. Not your standard campaign mode format.
