Live Brink Gameplay Demonstration at QuakeCon 2009

Following the news of its gamescom appearance, we can now confirm that Brink will also be shown at QuakeCon 2009. Splash Damage CEO and Game Director Paul 'Locki' Wedgwood will be giving a live gameplay demo to attendees on the event's Main Stage on Friday, August 14, at 1 PM, which will be followed by a Q&A session.

QuakeCon takes place from August 13 - 16 at the Gaylord Texan in Dallas, Texas. The full event schedule can be found in this press release, while more information on QuakeCon is available on the QuakeCon website.

So we'll have the jetlagged version from Quakecon, and the extremely jetlagged version from Gamescom? Can't wait :)

Quakeunity is the place to get Quakecon videos a week after event. They put up JC`s Q&A and all the VODs and game videos too.

On the plane now - it's gonna be a fun two weeks! First DC, then Dallas, then Cologne (via London and Dusseldorf), then finally home! If you do see me, Richard Ham, Richard Jolly, or Ed Stern, do walk up and say hi! I'm really looking forward to presenting to those of you that make it to Quakecon or Cologne!!! Not that there's anything wrong with the press, but I can't wait to show the game to players and ET fans!

Good luck Locki! i cant wait to see finally see the game moving :P will be sitting patiently waiting for it on this little island next to Australia :D

So it won't just be presentations? Awesome, one more incentive to get myself to Köln and get my copy of Woflenstein Enemy Territory signed.

Holy hell, never fails to stun the nuts off me the number of crashes I see in the US. And I used to travel the M3, M25 and M4 daily.
Posted on 11 August, 2009 - 04:30
Damn. Not a great start to the US trip. Hope everything's fine.

I just heard that they're back from the hospital and aside from a few bruises it sounds like they are OK....
Posted on 11 August, 2009 - 13:25
Awesome! :)

Yep we're okay, just a few bruises and slight whiplash, got back from the hospital about 1am this morning. We were very lucky lets put it that way - considering the taxi (we were in) was completely written off. It's work as normal today, just arrived at Bethesda's offices for some pre-Quakecon prep :stroggtapir:

Good to hear. Sounds like the big tapir in the sky was watching out for you.

Glad you guys are alright.

Wasn't it a tapir who ran them of the road in the first place? I don't know how else the car could have been damaged towards completely getting written off. Glad to hear you guys are okay!

Glad everyone is OK

We're glad everyone's okay. We've padded the walls at the office. :)

Presenting the game may be anticlimactic after a near death experience on American highways!
Posted on 12 August, 2009 - 00:05
Damn what a bad way to be welcomed to the usa :( Glad everyone's alright. I'm glad locki mentioned that he's eager to show brink to "et fans", that's very promising! Can't wait for the videos.

I wish Quakecon wasn't a $2000 flight away. I almost bought tickets on the weekend. :P

Well it's certainly an appropriate one, Americans can't drive.

Yeah I know what you mean. Should I ever get the chance to make a trip to the USA I will try to include a weekend at quakecon.

Well, with some tape it's possible for every lappy(smaller ones preferred). I have tried net while in a car and it's pretty good most of the times, even played W:ET once. Got the boredom away on a long drive.

You gotta be kidding murka O_o Be safe guys, we still need you back in Europe. You have plenty of time to die later kthx! o/

So whenever we see you driving very patiently and cautious in a hog in-game, we KNOW someone is driving his car over the highway like a hog.
