Brink Coverage Round-up Brings Interviews and Ice Cream

We hope everyone had an enjoyable few days off - what better way to get back into things than this calorie-free Brink coverage round-up?

First up are our friends at IncGamers, who have put together a slick video interview with Splash Damage head and Brink Game Director Paul 'Locki' Wedgwood, Creative Director Richard 'Rahdo' Ham, and Lead Writer Ed 'BongBoy' Stern. The three of them discuss Splash Damage's early years, teaming up with Bethesda, Brink, and interactive ice cream (chances are it's not what you think).

Meanwhile, If Men Had Wings has a new written interview with Richard Ham, stuffed with interestings things like the importance of online avatars in today's games, how SMART differs from previous free running efforts in games, and how AI teammates will fit into Brink's big picture.

Rounding things out on the coverage side today are Machinima.com, where a new video preview cunningly combines all manner of (previously released) Brink footage with fun facts about the game, and Girl Gamers UK, which sports a nicely written preview summarising Brink’s major features.

Lastly, if you're feeling lucky / sweepstakey, don't forget that you can win a top of the line home theatre system over at GameStop (US only) as well as loads of Brink posters over at Bethblog.

Yeah if he took it as part of the warrior diet he wouldn't even have to worry about his pounds.

More interviews should feature footage from frag movies - well done! I wouldn't call the IMHW interview stuffed though. There are like 5 questions or am I missing a next page button?

I like that video, although they do seem to stress they want the game to be the same on all platforms, while I really think they should remain separate. The community and controllers are just so much different, they require their own adaptations if you ask me. And like he said in the interview, that shouldn't just be an afterthought... interesting how the compilation movie doesn't mention ETQW in the intro, I found that a bit odd.

I think the point is, they want the game to look and play the same on all platforms with no platform having things the others don't (other than dedi servers) not to have the controlls the same

They want the same standard of quality on all platforms, coughquakewarscough.

for those who don't know, here is an idea of how ridiculous Coldstone Creamery is http://www.coldstonecreamery.com/icecream/custom_creations.html that's not counting cakes, drinks, cupcakes, cookie sandwiches, and anything else I missed. It's like Willy Wonka's workshop, but for ice cream.

Not to mention they are expensive as hell. I am sure that someone had to drop the female character budget for ice cream motivation .
