Batman: Arkham Origins PC Update Addresses XP Loss, Black Screen, and more

We've just deployed a new update for Batman: Arkham Origins on the PC to address several big issues, including progression loss, black screen on map load, long loading times, credits not being awarded, and more.

Here's the full changelog:

  • Fixed players occasionally losing progression
  • Fixed some clients experiencing black screen on map load
  • Fixed long loading times on map loading screen due to being disconnected from Steam
  • Fixed Arkham Credits occasionally not being awarded on match completion
  • Fixed multiplayer executable not being added to Firewall exceptions during installation

Steam will apply this update automatically if you're signed in. On a related note, Steam voice chat has been requested by many of you, and we're working on adding that to the game in a later update.

Awesome! Thanks guys. Look forward to seeing if I actually notice a difference. =p I'm curious though. What do you mean about the long loading screens if disconnected from Steam? I've had long loading screens and not been disconnected. Do you mean if the host disconnects or what?

If a player was disconnected from Steam during the load, everyone else would see prolonged load times due to the game waiting for the player to time out. This has now been fixed.

Could you also explain to me why half the time I'm selected to be Batman, I start the match as Robin?

That issue is still being investigated. Have no updates to share on that yet. :(

This is being looked into as well, though it's not as high a priority as some of the other issues on the team's list.

Thank you for the update. However, I have noticed instead of the black screen I now instead get a "You have disconnected from Steam" message on occasion. Aside from that the game seems to be doing better. I look forward to the addition of voice chat!

We think we've got a fix for this which'll go into the next update. Just needs testing by Warner QA.

Hello, Is this update available for download, as stated on the description? Atleast my steam account does not seem to download anything. Is there a way of downloading a standalone update?

Thanks for the reply Badman. One further question about consumables though. When they are fixed, can we exchange our XP boosts for something else if we've already fully leveled up?

Latest patch has made MP nearly totatlly unplayable. I have tried to get into several matches today and after waiting nearly an eternity for a full lobby I now get "Steam connection has dropped" This has happended 5 out of the 6 lobbies I have been in today. (PC)

Quick update: We're still looking into the Steam connection issue. As an interim workaround, restarting Steam should take care of this error occurring multiple times in a row.

For the first couple of weeks the online portion of this game was totally inaccessible to me due to crashing and lobbies that would never fill. This latest patch seems to have solved my major issues and I have been playing with no problems. It seems it has become fashionable to beat up on you guys right now, but I'm really enjoying the game now that I can play. The only issues I'm still experiencing are an inability to use any consumables and infrequent disconnections from steam, which it sounds like you guys have tracked down. Thanks for the fixes.
